Not always. Requirements depend on your design, panel size, fixing method, and surrounding surfaces. Some installations comply without a rail, while others require one. We can review your plans and confirm what is needed.
Does my glass pool fencing need a top cap/rail for compliance?
Often, frameless toughened glass can comply without a top rail. Compliance depends on panel dimensions, thickness, span, and installation method. We will advise on the correct specification for your project.
Do your glass pool fences meet NZ safety regulations?
Yes. Our systems are designed to comply with current New Zealand Building Code requirements for pool barriers when installed correctly. Specification details can be provided for consent and inspection.
How strong is the glass used in your fences?
We use toughened safety glass engineered for structural performance. It is significantly stronger than standard glass and, if broken, shatters into small blunt fragments for safety.
Will the glass go cloudy or turn green over time?
No. Toughened glass does not become cloudy over time. Standard clear glass has a slight natural green tint, but this does not increase. Low-iron glass is available for a clearer appearance.
Can I install the fence myself?
Installation is possible for experienced DIYers, but accuracy is critical for compliance and safety. We generally recommend professional installation to ensure correct fixing and certification.
